The Posture Exercise Belt balances muscles while restoring their strength and endurance
The Posture Exercise Belt applies weight to the head to improve posture. This is an age-old technique that dates back to putting a book on top of young girls heads while they walk around balancing it. The additional weight triggers the body’s natural righting reflexes to draw and hold the head into a direction of normal posture. This induces specific posture corrective training to the nerves and muscles and causes a re-balancing of the head over the body.
When used correctly, the Posture Exercise Belt balances muscles while restoring their strength and endurance.
The Posture Exercise Belt uses your own muscles under the direction of righting reflexes to correct a forward head posture. Changes may be felt in as short as a few minutes or they may take up to 90 days. For maximum results, 20 minutes of wearing the belt should be performed a minimum of two times a day.
After improvement is noted, you can maintain the muscle strength and endurance gained, as well as posture corrections, with one 20-minute exercise session weekly.
To begin, insert one weight in the middle of the belt and secure to your head with the velcro fastener. Wear for just 5 minutes and walk slowly for the first exercise session. If no reaction is noted - soreness, pain or headache, add additional weight starting from the center and moving out. The speed of walking can be increased. Continue to monitor for any reaction as you add weight and you find the right combination of weights for you.
With the head weight of the posture exercise belt in place, the center of the head is shifted forward. When the standing upright to gravity, the righting mechanism compensates in a predictable manner proportional to the new location of the head. In response, the postural righting mechanism causes the neck muscles to re-establish the head over spine, restoring form and function to the normal relationship between the head and neck.
The new position results in a proportional adaptation of all the bones, muscles, and ligaments involved.
You are encouraged to walk while performing the rehab exercise. The motion helps to increase strengthening of weak postural muscles and re-balances your nervous system to your new, improved posture.

Head Retraction or Chin-Tuck. Head retraction means pulling the head backwards. Sit down, look straight ahead and relax completely. Take a few deep breaths. Move your head slowly, but steadily backwards until it is pulled as far as you can manage without any pain. It is important to keep your chin tucked down and in as you do this. Once you have held this position for a few seconds, you should relax and automatically, your head and neck will protrude forward again. Repeat this exercise a few times and then move on to the next exercise. |

Remain seated and hold your hold your head back in the retracted position. Bend your neck sideways. Keep looking straight ahead and do not allow your head to turn. It's important that you keep your head in the retracted position as you perform this movement. To make this exercise more effective, take your hand and place it over the top of your head. Gently pull your head a little further sideways as long as you feel no pain. If you experience pain, immediately stop the movement at that point. Once you have maintained this sideways position for a few seconds, you should relax to the starting position. Repeat movement right and left a few times and then move on to the next exercise. |

Remain seated and hold your head back in the retracted position. Turn your head right and then left while keeping your head in the retracted position. This exercise can be made more effective by using your hand to gently push your head a little further into rotation. If you experience pain, immediately stop the movement at that point. Once you have maintained this rotated position for a few seconds, you should relax to the starting position. Repeat this movement right and left a few times and you are ready to use the Posture Exercise Belt. |
